I, Anlika Maré, owner and founder of Little Lamb Occupational Therapy knew I wanted to work with children since the moment I could start making decisions. In primary school I read up on different occupations that will allow me to work with young children daily and make a difference in their lives. After talking to many people and doing intensive research, I came across Occupational Therapy.
Wow, Occupational Therapy! Such an amazing field that allow you to help improve each person’s quality of life and independence you come in contact with.
At the age of 14 (Grade 7), I decided that I want to become a Pediatric Occupational Therapist and have been working towards that goal ever since.
Little Lamb Occupational Therapy was established in April 2021 and I have since worked either in therapy or screening sessions with hundreds of children. I love the personal relationship I get to build with each child during therapy sessions and seeing each of them reach their full potential.

I started off in a double garage-size therapy room and we have since moved to a big practice with five therapy rooms and a waiting room. We are now 3 therapists seeing children at the practice as well as at surrounding schools and pre-schools.
My vision for this business is to continue doing therapy sessions and one day open a preschool for special needs children. I desire this business to grow into an enormous organisation with many different therapists specialising in different specific areas and working with thousands of children across the Western Cape.
I also envisage that we will start to work in hospitals and do therapy with acute paediatric patients.
I want Little Lamb Occupational Therapy to be a safe space for parents and children where we can work together to reach each and every child’s full potential.
I enjoy advocating for Occupational Therapy (as there is a stigma linked to children being seen by Occupational Therapists) and training teachers, principals and parents on what Occupational therapy is, how to best identify if a child might benefit from Occupational Therapy and how to help children who have difficulty within the classroom.
At Little Lamb Occupational Therapy our heart and priority are to HELP.
