Your child will benefit from Occupational Therapy if he/she:
– Has difficulty with the basic daily tasks such as eating, dressing, grooming etc.
– Has not reached developmental milestones such as sitting and crawling.
– Does not react as expected to sound, touch, movement, smell, taste and visual input
– Finds fine and gross motor skills more challenging than peers.
– Is overly clumsy.
– Often leans on surfaces or can’t sit up straight when working at a table.
– Has difficulty organizing belongings, thoughts or self.
– Has difficulties with multi step activities.
– Has difficulty sitting still or focusing.
– Has rigid or inconsistent behaviour.
– Has difficulty regulating emotions or behaviour.
– Has difficulty dealing with unexpected changes to routine.
– Often says “I can’t”.
– Struggles with or avoids social interactions.
– Becomes anxious with school related tasks. – Writes letters or numbers in the wrong direction.
Presents with diagnoses including but not limited to:
- -Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD),
- -Cerebral Palsy (CP),
- -Neurological conditions,
- -Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD),
- -Intellectual Impairment,
- -Mental Health: Anxiety, Depression, Tauma.
